Hybrid Energy
Systems
Not every facility can be served by solar alone. For clients with complex load profiles, high baseload demand, variable generation environments, or remote locations, CIPA Energy Resources engineers hybrid energy systems. Combining solar, battery storage, grid, and generator inputs into a single intelligently managed platform.

What a CIPA Energy Resources
Hybrid System Includes

Solar PV Generation
Rooftop or ground-mount solar provides the lowest-cost generation source. Sized to meet as much of your daytime demand as your roof space, shading profile, and budget allow. The solar component is owned and operated by CIPA Energy Resources under your energy service agreement.

Battery Energy Storage
BESS captures surplus solar generation, stores it for dispatch during peak periods or outages, and reduces grid import to its lowest possible level. Sized based on your load profile, outage frequency, and backup duration requirements.

Grid Integration & Management
The hybrid system maintains a controlled grid connection. Drawing from the grid only when solar and storage cannot meet demand, and potentially exporting surplus to the grid where regulations permit. Grid interaction is managed automatically by the EMS.

Generator Integration
For clients in locations with frequent extended outages, an existing generator can be integrated into the hybrid system as a last-resort backup. Starting automatically only when solar, storage, and grid are all unavailable, and running at optimal load for fuel efficiency.

Intelligent Energy Management
The EMS monitors all generation and consumption sources in real time. Automatically dispatching from the lowest-cost available source, managing battery state of charge, scheduling generator starts, and optimising for minimum cost and maximum reliability simultaneously.

Single Contract, Single Invoice
Despite the complexity of the underlying system, the client experience is simple: one energy service agreement, one monthly invoice, one point of accountability. CIPA Energy Resources owns, operates, and maintains every component of the hybrid platform.
When is a hybrid system the right choice?
01
High Baseload Demand
Facilities with 24/7 production requirements or significant overnight consumption that solar alone cannot cover.
02
Frequent Extended Outages
Locations experiencing outages of 6-16 hours daily where battery storage alone is insufficient for full backup coverage.
03
Remote or Weak Grid
Sites in peri-urban or rural locations with unreliable grid supply where solar-plus-storage-plus-generator is more reliable than grid dependence.
04
Complex Load Profiles
Industrial facilities with highly variable demand — including large motor starts, welding loads, or cold storage — that require sophisticated dispatch management.
